An Invocation With Violin, Cello, Piano and Human Voice, presented by WordTheatre and Delta Highway
This was a unique fusion of stories and soul-stirring music. Taylor’s presented his spin on Karen Carpenter, Charles Manson, and the storm surge of Katrina accompanied by Lili Haydn (called “the Jimi Hendrix of the violin” by George Clinton), Ben Hong on cello (principle cellist with the LA Philharmonic) and Adam MacDougall on piano. Music from Hadyn’s upcoming release on Nettwerk Records was performed.
The event included “Tuesdays with Lucy”, excerpted for KPCC’s Off-Ramp (March 31st noon show on 89.3 FM), a heartfelt account of his teenage acting teacher Lucille Ball, plus several new stories.
Taylor's stories were developed with Cedering Fox and have been performed at WordTheatre, Sit and Spin, Spoken Interludes and Say the Word at the Skirball Center.
A champagne reception to followed.
