Cedering Fox

Artistic Director

Cedering Fox produces and directs film, theatre and radio, and is one of the industry's preeminent voice-over artists (www.cederingfox.com). A partner in some of LA's best literary salons since the early 1990's, including The Great Writers' Series: Literary Evenings at the MET, Spoken Interludes and Literary Stages. Fox founded her own word-fest, WordTheatre, in 2003. Feature films that she has in development with producing partner Patrick Cassavetti ("Brazil", "Emma", "Mona Lisa", "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas") include "Rockwell" by Thomas Thonson, John Scheinfeld's ("The U.S. vs. John Lennon") "Seize the Time", and "Fast Buck" by Murray Mintz. Fox developed and directed the AFI and Houston Film Festival award winning film, "The Ticket Outta Here". After receiving her undergraduate training at Oberlin College and her MFA in Acting from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, she worked as an actress onstage, both on and off-Broadway, on television and in features before moving behind the scenes.


Darrell Larson

Darrell Larson has had a lifelong involvement with the exploration of language and performance. He founded, produced and directed THE ACT OF THE POET series for the Poetry Society of America, at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, featuring inspired pairings such as Tim Curry and James Merrill; Dana Delany and Galway Kinnell; Andrea Marcovicci and James Tate. In the early 90's, partnered with Cedering Fox, he created the GREAT WRITERS' SERIES at the MET Theatre in Hollywood. Over a span of five years, this extraordinary series provided a unique arena for experiencing literature, read by such writers as William Styron, Peter Mattheissen, Budd Schulberg, Denis Johnson, James Ellroy and actors from Dustin Hoffman to Raquel Welch to Holly Hunter and Paul Winfield. The Great Writers' Series, also know as LITERARY EVENINGS AT THE MET, was broadcast weekly on Santa Monica's NPR station KCRW. Reborn in 2004, THE GREAT WRITERS SERIES RIDES AGAIN, a thorough survey of the Western genre, was chosen BEST OF LA by the LA Weekly.

Other events Larson has produced include SURELY YOU JEST, a celebration of humor in poetry, for the Poetry Society of America, at the Orensanz Center in New York City, and a reading of banned books for the American Booksellers Association convention in Anaheim, hosted by Garrison Keillor. As a theater director, Darrell has staged over 30 plays, including many by Sam Shepard. Most recently, he directed FASTER by Adam Rapp at Rattlestick in NYC; KARLA by Steve Earle in Nashville; and PSYCHOS NEVER DREAM by Denis Johnson at Campo Santo in San Francisco. He produced and directed his own adaptation of Bob Dylan's TARANTULA at the Powerhouse in Santa Monica, California. As an actor, he has most recently appeared in Jonathan Demme's THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE, Adam Rapp's WINTER PASSING and Jim Ponsoldt's OFF THE BLACK. Larson is also a respected teacher, currently at Columbia University's Graduate Film department and the Actor's Center in Manhattan


Alexander Linklater

Alexander Linklater is fiction editor of Prospect magazine, and a columnist for the Guardian. In 2005, he founded the National Short Story prize, in association with BBC Radio 4. (With £15,000 going to the winner, this is the largest award in the world for a single story.) He is also British editor of the Swedish political journal, Axess. Previously Deputy editor of Prospect, an arts editor of the London Evening Standard, and literary editor of the Glasgow Herald, he was Scottish Arts Writer of the Year in 1999, and nominated in 2006 for the David Watt prize for political journalism.


Kirsty Peart

Kirsty Peart is an animation feature writer and independent producer at the Film Foundry based in London. Peart's introduction to the world of theatre began at Cambridge University when she was a writer/performer in the renowned comedy group The Footlights. She wrote and directed the award-winning play GODDESS then turned to film and tv producing:- award-winning short films THE GINGERBREAD MAN and GOOSEBERRIES DON'T DANCE; Series Producer and Director for a live tv series PUMP TV, hosted by Sacha Baron Cohen and more recently CUL DE SAC, a comedy pilot for Working Title TV.

Peart met Cedering whilst in LA studying at UCLA's Professional Summer Producing Programme. Peart is currently co-writing with LA-based writer Jessica Kedward two animated feature films for LA-based Exodus Film Group and has several projects in development as producer including:- THE WITCHCRAFT CONSPIRACY with Hungarian producer Emoke Vagasi, directed by Krisztina Goda (Just Sex, Nothing Else & Andy Vajna's Children of Glory) and comedian Henry Naylor's first feature FINDING BIN LADEN based his sell-out & critically-acclaimed Edinburgh Fringe Festival play. Martin Brown (producer Moulin Rouge) is executive producing and they are set to film in Morocco in April / May 2007.


Chris Sahakians

WordTheatre LA Recording/Mixing Engineer

As a recording/mixing engineer, Chris has been in charge of recording and supplying the live sound mixes for Word Theatre from its inception. He holds both Music and Audio Recording Engineer Degrees. He has provided live sound mixes for high profile artists such as Lionnel Rickie, Seal, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Ziggy Marley and Cher. As a mixing engineer, he has remixed various band performances such as Brian Setzer Orchestra, Royal Crown Revue, Les Brown and Band of Renown, Max Weinberg 7, and Alex North's film composition in 7.1 High Definition Audio. As band director, Chris has also co-wrote a song, which went on to win a National DownBeat Award. He has held high profile positions such as Chief Recording Engineer at M&Ks state of the art studios. He has since then been working as a freelance audio mixing engineer/sound designer on independent projects including video games, commercials and TV programs.


Jason Nower

WordTheatre NY Videographer

Jason Nower is a writer, producer, director and videographer operating out of the East End of Long Island. He has most of his training in theatre, having done work at the Helen Hayes Theatre for the Performing Arts, Guild Hall, The Theatre Studio Inc., The Robert Wilson Watermill Center and various other locations. At the age of 17 he wrote and performed his play Shades of Grey at the Baystreet playhouse in the Young Playwrights Festival. He is also the founder of the film company Teiresias Said What?


Matthew LaForest

WordTheatre LA Sound Engineer and Technical Advisor

With his degree in Audio Engineering, LaForest has worked with the Bill Graham Presents archive/ Wolfgang's Vault transferring and mastering department; as a live sound mixer for a number of acts, as well as festival concerts, and as Sound Designer for several movies and television shows. He's an avid musician and plays both guitar and keyboard. LaForest is also an Apple certified tech.
